Color Days

Every week, we will learn about a new color.  Here are the links to our color songs.  Students are not only expected to know how to recognize the colors, but also know how to spell and read the color words.

Johnny Appleseed's Birthday!

We celebrated Johnny Appleseed's birthday many different ways.  We practiced AB patterns, counting apple seeds and adding apples to apple trees.  Yum... we also tried to figure out which apple was our favorite.

Students also practiced a poem and made an art project.

Five little worms, happy as can be,
living in an apple in an apple tree.
        They nibbled to the left,
and they nibbled to the right.
They nibbled on that apple, with all their might.
When the apple was gone, and the worms were fed.
They went to sleep in a feather bed.

Welcome back to the 2012-2013 school year!  I am very excited about another year at Madison School in Young 5's.  I will again do my best to post great pictures from our daily classroom lessons, activities and fun days.    Here is a picture of my sweeties this week at Homecoming.
